Are you a non-EU citizen wishing to work as a highly-skilled employee in the Czech Republic? You can find information below on the conditions to fulfill and procedures to follow, as well as the rights you can enjoy during your stay.
To be a highly-skilled worker in the Czech Republic, you must obtain either an employee card or a Blue Card.
An employee card is intended for all types of employment, regardless of the required professional qualification level.
However, the job vacancy for which an application for an employee card can be made must come from the central register of job vacancies that can be filled by holders of employee cards. Subject to the consent of the employer, these job vacancies can be published on the ministry of labor and social affairs’ employment portal.
To obtain a Blue Card, you must hold a university or college diploma from an educational programmed that lasted three years or longer.
Blue Cards are granted for jobs advertised in the central job register. Jobs available for Blue Cards are primarily those that have not been successfully filled by workers from the Czech Republic or the EU.
